Thanks to all who helped get Revelation ready to sail. Thanks for painting hulls at Horny Goat Marina, towing the boat and trailer between HGM and Milw. Yacht Club, raising the mast, affixing the tiller, or tuning the rigging. A job well done. A few more tweaks and we’re ready to sail.

Getting Boats Ready to Sail
Ahoy, Sailors. Summer is quickly approaching. Time to get our boats ready to sail. We are an all-volunteer club. We need your time and energy to get our boats ready for Boats In.
We’d like to put two boats in the water this year. But we need your help. To start with we need to take off their covers and pack the covers in crates, then scrape and paint the boat bottoms. Boats are currently stored at Horny Goat Marina, 1933 S. 1st St. If you need a ride there, let me know and I will pick you up.
In addition, volunteer Steve Fieder will be replacing Revelation’s trailer jack with a new jack, and making repairs to the masts of Revelation and Dana. Assistance would be needed there as well.
To organize a work crew, please let me know what days and hours you are available in the upcoming days and weeks. The sooner we get the boats ready, the sooner they go in the water and the sooner we can all sail.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Boats in Saturday, May 27th
Ahoy, Sailors! Boats In is scheduled for next Saturday, May 27th at Milwaukee Yacht Club, 1700 N. Lincoln Ave (turn east across from Collectivo).
We’ll start at 9am until about 1pm. Even if you can only come for an hour, your helpful hands any time during this time period will be appreciated. We’ll need at least four people to raise the mast and rig the boat. Meet by the eastern crane. The Junior Boathouse is open to us for restrooms, ice water and relaxation.
However, we first need to get our sailboat Revelation bottom-painted. MYC’s lot is available to us this week Tuesday (all afternoon and evening), Thursday (all afternoon until 4:30pm), and Friday (all afternoon and evening). Please let me know asap if and when you are able to help out on one of these days.
Those who help out with boat prep and launching will be first in line for sail lessons.

Boats In:
Boats-In, our first opportunity to have our sail boats in the water, is coming up on Saturday, June 4th, 9am-12pm at Milwaukee Yacht Cub (MYC), 1700 Lincoln Memorial Drive, across from Colectivo Coffee.
Join us for the fun and camaraderie of craning the boats into Lake Michigan, raising the mast, rigging them and taking them out for a sail. Even if you can only stop by for an hour, it will be an hour well-appreciated by your fellow members. Wear your work clothes/gloves, sunscreen and sunglasses. Bring a jacket and hat for cool winds off the lake (60F). We will be using MYC’s comfortable clubhouse and restrooms. Meet us at the cranes near the water. This is a good opportunity to meet fellow sailors, learn about sail lessons and build our sailing club.
Boats-In Preparation is an integral part of this event. There are a number of activities that need to be completed before boats can be put in the water. This is an important way to help out, especially if you cannot make the Boats In event.
